ACK THIKA TALENTS SACCO

Thika Community Development Trust (TCDT) an autonomous not for profit trust was established as a microfinance arm by the Anglican Church Diocese of Thika in partnership with Five Talents International in 2004 to economically empower the local communities that have limited and/or lack access to credit facilities for households, small and micro businesses. Over the years TCDT became a dominant niche as a rural financier while building a portfolio that demonstrates that rural finance is both a viable business and socially transformational. Due to its growth in Membership, Savings and Loan portfolio TCDT required clear legal and governance structures to continue operating in a minimal risk environment, engage professionalism in its management and position it to compete for business. This invite of TCDT Programme translating into a more sustainable business SACCO model / responsible financier which brings with it both opportunities and challenges that the SACCO requires to positively address in order to provide a consistent path of business and providing quality service to the members. This Resulted to the establishment of ACK Thika Talents Sacco and was registered on 6th April 2016 under the Co-operative Societies Act of the Laws of Kenya as limited liability society in order to take the work of Thika Community Development Trust and provide affordable credit services to the community under the jurisdiction of the Diocese of Thika and its environs. By the year 2017 ACK Thika Talents Sacco Financial services operated five Financial Services Agencies (FSAs) which acted as its branches, 36 Trust groups and a client base of 5000 in which 70% are women and 30% are men mobilizing Ksh 183 million in savings and a loan portfolio of Ksh 192 million.

FAITHFUL SERVANT SACCO

Faithful Servant Sacco ltd is a Faith-Based Savings and credit co-operative society within the ACK Diocese of Embu Previously known as {GIKIMBE}. Currently the Sacco has approximately 3500 registered and active members. The overall goal of Faithful servant Sacco is to contribute towards poverty alleviation through the support of Micro Enterprise programmes within Embu. Faithful servant Sacco seeks to holistically motivate and empower members to mobilize resources and save for future so as to grow wealth through provision of affordable credit. The Sacco has established trust groups all over the area covered by ACK Diocese of Embu which have formed the basis of viable co-guaranteeing model. Faithful servant Sacco is dedicated to being the best Savings and Credit Co-operative Society in Kenya founded and managed on Christian Values.

NAKURU COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT TRUST

Nakuru Community Development Trust is a microfinance program promoted by the Anglican Diocese of Nakuru which was established in 2013. It is a ‘Starting Small, Growing Big and Creating Wealth’ initiative that embraces a people centered approach whose aim is to contribute to the efforts of improving standards of living by empowering the community through savings mobilization, credit provision, capacity building and support of Micro enterprise programmes.

KERICHO COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT TRUST

Kericho Community Development Trust is a Microfinance project of ACK Diocese of Kericho which was established in 2016 and a registered Trust in the business of financial services to the small and micro enterprise sector. Its overall goal is to contribute to the efforts of improving standards of living by empowering the community through savings mobilization, credit provision, capacity building and support of Micro enterprise programmes. KCDT embraces a people centered approach hence its philosophy is based on the premise that people should live in a just and equal society and that the economy is not in a failed state. To achieve this KCDT is guided by the following objectives; To contribute to poverty reduction by providing a client / market sensitive financial services to marginalized entrepreneurs in both rural and urban locations with special commitment to women and rural based enterprises. To create employment and income opportunities to women and other Vulnerable groups of entrepreneurs through creation and expansion of micro enterprises To reduce rural families income insecurity by availing credit to rural based businesses and encouraging diversification of their income generating activities. To establish KCDT as a reputable institution operated as a sustainable going on concern and an authority in enterprise development particularly in the rural areas. To capitalize KCDT and establish an operational structure that makes it continually post better performance indicators becoming a sustainable undertaking. To develop collaborative mechanisms and join any strategic alliances with other development stakeholders that can be able to make KCDT’S core business relevant and more beneficial to the marginalized and enterprising populace To develop its distinction as an institution that is professionally ran and upholds Christian faith in the provision of its services providing a wholistic client centered service in all respect and equality and with admonition of God.

WECODET

Wecodet is a Microfinance project in Western region which is six month old since establishment whose aim is to economically empower the local communities that have limited and/or lack access to credit facilities for households, small and micro businesses. This will be achieved by establishing Trust Groups that will form the basis of a viable Microfinance Programme, targeting the community at the grass root level. The undertaking will be in line with the Diocese’s Holistic Mission through the social action approach. The Diocese has been designed and will seek to oversee the development of a sustainable Microfinance Program. Since establishment 6 groups have been formed with a client base of about 80 members.
